John Paul Barnes, 80, of Decatur, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015. A gathering of friends will be on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Barnes. He is survived by his sons; John Barnes(Betty), and Greg Barnes(Jerri), and numerous grandchildren. Three brothers; J. W. Barnes, Earl Barnes and Bobby Barnes.
Mr. Barnes retired from Monsanto after 38 years of service.
