
Funeral for Julius John Carrier, 91, of Decatur will be Thursday, May 13, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Remke officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Carrier, who died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital, was born September 29, 1918, in Holyoke to Maria and Charles Carriere. He was a longtime resident of Decatur. He moved from Florence, Mass., in 1961. He worked as a service manager for Worthington Dunham-Bush Fedders and retired at the age of 73. He was a member of Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Carrier was preceded in death by one brother, Earnest Carriere; two sisters, Victoria Quinville and Jacquelyn Carriere. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wendy (Wanda) Carrier; two daughters, Beverly Pierre and Brenda McCown; eight grandchildren, Kirk Pierce (Leah), Keith Pierce (Amanda), Kyle Pierce, Sean McCown (Leslie), Christopher McCown, Jacquelyn Wilson (Shawn), Robert Miles, and Teresa Infinger; eleven great-grandchildren, Caleb Pierce, Kaity Pierce, Scott Wilson, Hannah Pierce, Kenny McCown, Justin Wilson, John Michael Pierce, Haley McCown, Kevin McCown, Nichole Infinger, and Brandon Infinger.
Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
