Lew was my first flight instructor and a fantastic mentor to me and many others through Civil Air Patrol. He was like a hero to me as he was such a great pilot, instructor, and person. Lew gave me a foundation in flying that not only served me well as an Air Force pilot but still benefits others today as I teach others to fly like he taught me. His legacy will continue on. Lew's faith in God was inspiring and I look forward to seeing my dear friend with the Lord in Heaven. What a tremendous friend and man he was and such a privilege to know. To all the Mills' family, my family and I will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Lew gave me my first-ever flight in 1990. I just retired from 20 years as a pilot in the Air Force and started flying for United last month... I always wanted to tell him how thankful I was that he so selflessly gave me the gift of flight, and that it so changed my life. I will be forever grateful.

My heart goes out to Keith and the rest of the family. May the Lord keep you and comfort you during this time.

This is a picture from the very logbook he bought me on the day he took me up and my wings from United.

A really good man has gotten his holy “wings. So many good flights together when we were still working.
May God Bless you, Janice and family, at this sad time.
