Lewis E. Spiegel, 93, passed away October 18, 2012, at VA Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will at 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Spiegel was born in Decatur on May 18, 1919, to Almer Hackworth Spiegel and Nettie Francis Maples Spiegel. He was a retired Boilermaker from Local 455, an army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Arell Nuby Spiegel.
He is survived by his daughter, Judi McClendon (Rick) of Northport; sisters, Peggy Reagan of Birmingham and Bertha Missman of California; grandson, Allen McClendon (Annie) of Moundville; granddaughter, Ashlee Potter (Ed) of Northport; and five great-grandchildren, Grayson and Sadie McClendon, Rylee, Emory and Lucy Potter.
