Lula Mae Boggs Bailey was born October 8, 1917, in Ft. Payne, to Myrtle Jacoway Boggs and John Bishop Boggs. She passed away Mar. 28, 2011, in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Zeno Bailey Jr. and her sister, Evelyn Boggs White.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeffie Bailey Woodham and husband, Branan Woodham; grandson Brannan D. Woodham and wife, Amy; and great-granddaughter Abigail Marie Woodham. Also surviving are her niece, Linda White Morris and great-niece, Lauren Elizabeth Morris.
At Riverside High School, Mrs. Bailey was a member of Sub Deb sorority. Professionally, she was a member of Business and Professional Women and a long time employee at Decatur City Hall.
Visitation will be Thurs., March 31, 2011, from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with service at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Formby. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Caregivers of the Valley in her memory will be appreciated by the family.
