A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A graveside service will immediately follow at Decatur City Cemetery.
Born on March 12, 1950, Lynne was a graduate of Benedictine High School in Detroit, Michigan. Throughout her life, she was known for her unwavering devotion to her family, her generous spirit, and a selflessness that touched everyone who knew her. Lynne was the kind of person who put others before herself without hesitation. She gave freely of her time, her love, and her heart, never seeking recognition or praise in return.
In fact, those who knew her best can almost hear her now reminding everyone not to make too much of a fuss over her. She was humble by nature and far more comfortable caring for others than being the center of attention. Yet the impact she made on the lives around her deserves to be celebrated and remembered.
Lynne believed deeply in God’s love and grace. Her faith sustained her through life’s joys and challenges and remained an important part of who she was.
Lynne was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Vincent Watkins, and her parents, John and Lois Williams.
She leaves behind her sons, Michael Paul Watkins, Joseph Watkins (Jen), Anthony Watkins, and Daniel Watkins (Jessica). She was a cherished grandma to Emmera, Sarah Beth, Haylin, Joey, Grace, Cameron, and Audrey, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Moxie, who held a special place in her heart.
Lynne is also survived by her siblings, Carol (and the late Tom) Rogers, Jimmy, Tommy, Rory, Kevin (Jean), Janice (Fred) D'Agostino, Johnny, Danny (Stephanie), and Mark Williams. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including Michelle Bracken, Mary Waters, and Dawn Harris.
While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Lynne’s legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched.
