Funeral for Maggie "Ruth" Hayes Brown, 88, of Decatur will be Sunday, January 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Terry officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery in Lawrence County. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown, who died Friday, January 20, 2012, at River City Care and Rehab, was born June 21, 1923, in Morgan County to John Ottis Lemley and Nellie Beatrice Lemley. She retired as a nurses aide from Decatur General Hospital. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Shirley; her husband of 19 years, James Forrest Hayes; son, Chris Alan Hayes; brother, James D. Lemley; four sisters, Goldie Murphy, Lavert Carter, Voncile Collins and Mary Parker; and son-in-law, Ronald Terry.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Dale Hayes, Roger Hayes (Edna) and Frankie Hayes (Cindy); two daughters, Sharon Terry and Susan Smith (Johnny); 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grand- children and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Marlin Terry, Roger D. Hayes, Joel Caver, Matt Dean, Stewart Graham and Christopher Thorn.
