Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her parents; Hallman and Ivanee Cochran; husband, Lt. Col. Billie F. Wood; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her three daughters, Pennie Wood Manley (Ron) of Auburn, Sharon Wood Stephenson (Jim) of Hartselle and Rhonda Wood Taylor of Decatur; one sister, Mary Catherine Bowen; five grandchildren, Brandon Taylor (Misty), Janelle Taylor, David Manley (Katherine), John Manley, James Howell "Trey" Stephenson III and William Wood Stephenson; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylin and Helen Manley.
Mrs. Wood was born in Ball Ground, Georgia, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
