Margaret Ruth Nelms, 68, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2018. She was born on September 7, 1949 to parents, Richard T. Ward and Martha Marrs Hardigree. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was the definition of selfless. It brought her great joy to care for those she loved the most. Margaret made sure that everyone was taken care of. Her loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Ward.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Nelms; children, Stephen Woods, Julie Woods, Chad Woods, and Amber Marshall; grandson, Brayden Saint; brother, Jerry Ward.
A memorial service for Margaret will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home.
