

She was orphaned at an early age and with her brother Bob, was sent to live at the Odd Fellows Orphans Home in Mason City, IA. After her marriage and the birth of her children, she moved to Wichita, KS where for many years she was the Parish Worker at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Her other activities included Eastern Star, Girl Scout leader, president of the area-wide PTA and lifetime member of Business and Professional Women. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, reading, watching sports and soaps on television, and socializing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Robert McConnell, her son Charles Schimp and her former husband, Henry Schimp.
Survivors include her daughter Diane Hudson of Decatur, AL; her grandsons David Lee Pendergraft of Wichita, KS and Mark Squire Pendergraft of Phoenix, AZ and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Miles and wife Kaleena Rogers

A family visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm, at the home of her daughter. A memorial in
