Martha Louise Higdon

Funeral for Martha Louise Higdon, 68, of Decatur will be Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Ledlow and the Rev. Ben Bates officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Higdon, who died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Parkway Medical Center, was born February 16, 1945, in Morgan County to Charlie Johnson and Bessie Jacobs Johnson. She was retired from Delphi. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Burnham Van Steenis; brother, Charles Ray Johnson; sister, Betty Jean Seamons.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Joel Higdon; one son, Jerry D. Burnham Jr. and wife Shawn of Ardmore; one daughter, Amanda S. Millette of Priceville; one brother, Johnny Johnson of Decatur; two sisters, Jewel Puckett and Carolyn Hanners, both of Decatur; five grandchildren, Blake Milby, John David Van Steenis of Decatur, Brittany Van Steenis of Hartselle, Gennifer Van Steenis of Huntsville and Owen Millette of Priceville; and one great-grandchild, Kadence Towe of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Randall Wilson, Owen Millette, Steve Puckett, Myron Puckett, Jason Puckett and Tom Persons.
