Mary Lynne Jones

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joe T. Jones Jr.; two sons, Joe T. Jones III and his wife, Dr. Danna "Dee Dee" Jones of Decatur and Michael Gardiner Jones and his wife, Rhee Jones of Decatur; and three granddaughters, Bethany Paige Smith, Emsley Peyton Jones and Caroline Olivia Jones, all of Decatur. Mrs. Jones was active in HUGS at Central United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member. She graduated from The University of North Alabama and taught for the Decatur City School System for 32 years prior to retirement. During her teaching career, she received numerous awards and honors including Teacher of the Year.

Funeral services will be Wednesday April 18, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Chapel with Reverend Larry Bottom and Dr. Steve Chandler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Dinsmore, Allen Sandlin, Glenn Randall, Charles Rankin, Doyle Benefield and Eric Stephens.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society .
