Mary Anne Bazzell Smith, age 83, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 19, 2021. She was born June 23, 1937, to Mary and James Bazzell in Pensacola, Florida. Mary Anne is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 63 years, Delmar Wayne Smith, 9 children, Mike Smith (fiance Debbie) of Decatur, Maureen Cox (Richard) of Birmingham, Monica Cole (Tim) of Hartselle, Mary Jett (Bobby) of Decatur, Stella Kelly (Chris) of Athens, Vince Smith (Kyndra) of Priceville, Bernadette Brennaman (Eric) of Decatur, Cathy Rizzardi (Ron) of Huntsville, and Marty Smith (Dana) of Trinity. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and her Church, having been a member of the choir for many years, and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She loved to quilt, needlepoint, bake, bird watch, and play the piano. We would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and the numerous caregivers who cared for our mother these past 6 years. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Hospice of the Valley, Save-A-Life, or Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church.

My Sympathy and Prayers to the Smith Family. I have so many fun memories growing up at St. Ann's with them. Especially my classmate Marty. Love and Light to Mrs. Mary as she continues to watch them all from across the veil until she is reunited with them again.

To the family our most memorable times is the way your mom greeted us at every event held at church as well as the Knights of Columbus Hall. She always had a smile for my wife and I, we will miss her. Praying that God will comfort you during this time, remember that she is now resting with the God.
