Mattie Crochelle Berryman

Mattie Berryman passed away on April 29th, 2026 peacefully at home with her family. She was 91 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Berma Spain, her siblings Hubert Spain, Jody Spain, Horace Spain and her daughter Charlotte Terry.

Mattie was survived by her sisters LV Vandiver, Edith Jowers and her brother Buford Spain, her daughter Glenda Hardin, granddaughter Tonya Welch and great grandson Noah Welch.

She was also known as Crochelle , as sister, as mama and as granny.

She had a way of bringing everyone together. She offered comfort, took care of those she loved, hurt when you hurt, and laughed when you laughed.

Though we feel the weight of this loss deeply, we are grateful for the time we had, the love we shared, and the impact she made on each of our lives.

Mattie enjoyed living a simple life, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Even though she is no longer with us on this earth, she will leave an impact on our hearts.

We will carry her with us—in the way we love, in the way we live, and in the way we treat others.
