

She was an Alpha Delta Pi at Memphis State College. After graduation she taught elementary school in Memphis, Washington State, Walter Jackson Elementary in Decatur, and then she was a librarian at Decatur High School.
Nancy served First Presbyterian Church in many ways as an Elder, Deacon, librarian, youth group leader, and leader in the Presbyterian Women of the Church locally and regionally. She was active in many Decatur community organizations including the Friends of the Library, Newcomers Club, Women’s Club, AAUW, Culture Club, and was a docent at the Huntsville Museum of Art.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years whom she met in the Westminster Fellowship at Memphis State, Captain Joseph David Moss, USAF veteran; and her parents, George and Adalee Kincaid. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Stephen Petersen of Decatur and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and grandchildren David, Alex, and Lee.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, 2 pm, at the Roselawn mausoleum, with Reverend Tom Lewis officiating, visitation following. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Presbyterian Home for Children or your favorite charity.
