Ron was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the army for 10 years as a communication specialist and Drill Sargeant. He was also a lay minister helping others to know Christ. He was a member of the Community of Christ church in Priceville, AL. In his spare time, he volunteered with the Decatur Police department and spent time with family.
He is survived by his daughter, Anastasia Harlan (Dale), one son Ron Stevenson ll (Jenn) and one granddaughter Madilynn Kate Stevenson. As well as several nieces and nephews.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Martha Nelson Stevenson; mother, Ruby Mae Shafer, sister Brenda Sue Frazier, brothers Charles and Travis Duke.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
