Sarah Patricia Knable

Sarah Patricia Dixon Knable,85 years old of Neel Alabama, passed on to the Lord on May 4, 2026. A private family only Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday May 8, 2026. Burial will take place at the mausoleum.

Pat grew up in Gastonia NC. She later moved to Greenville SC. She attended Greenville High school. She married Gene Knable on June 7, 1958, in Greenville SC. They were married for 68 years. They Moved to Greenwood SC in 1974 and to Decatur AL in 1978. While in Greenwood, she was an active member in seven bridge clubs. She worked at a dress boutique shop. In Decatur, AL she worked at Rhodes Furniture Store for a number of years.

She loved to camp and fish at Greenwood Lake. She was a member at Little Mountain Marina in Guntersville AL. She had great memories of going with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to beaches, musical festivals and many other fun trips. She was also a great cook.

She dearly loved her husband of 68 years of marriage. She had four children, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren and dearly loved each and every one of them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Dixon (at a young age); mother, Minnie Elvira Meeks; stepdad, John C. Meeks; son, Michael Knable and wife Debbie; Barbara Benson, Rachel Meeks, and Bill Meeks.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Knable; son, Steve (Vickie); daughters, Diane Ackerman (Johnny) and Jane Forton; grandchildren, Chris Ackerman (Katie), Steve Ackerman (Amy), Samantha Keenum (David Allen), Elizabeth Forton, and Chelsey Knable; great-grandchildren, Sloan, Addie, Hudson, Houston, Hayden Ackerman, Case, Cole, Chip Keenum, Winni Forton, Ryland Netherton; Also, Aida Paris, Alexianna Caviness, Jasmine Rubin, Ronnie, Shane, and Jesse Tosten and family.
