Shelby Dugger Norton, 72, died May 16, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born September 4, 1938, to Oscar Dugger and Jesse Hipp Dugger. Mrs. Norton was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 14 in Decatur, a member of the Decatur Elks Lodge No. 655 and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a very devoted mother to her three children, grandchildren, and to the care of her immediate family. She had a servant's heart.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Norton of Huntsville and Tammy Norton of Decatur; one son, Timmy Norton (Karen) of Huntsville; one sister, Bobbie Thompson of Decatur; four grandchildren, Ben Murphy (Keri), Angel Monk, Lacey Norton and Jarrod Norton; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and William Murphy.

Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor John Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dexter Gay, Tom Murphy, Mike Thompson, Clarke Rountree, Kenny Blaxton and Kendall Blaxton. Honorary pallbearer will be Ben Murphy.
