Steve Kirkes passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at UAB Hospital at the age of 45. Steve was the owner of Kirkes Woodworking and was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Jim Kirkes and Shirley Harwell Kirkes.
Steve is survived by his wife, Susan Schoel Kirkes; three children, Cameron, Sara-Charles and Clara; brother, Dan (Narcisa) Kirkes of Raleigh, North Carolina and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 3:30pm at First Bible Church in Decatur with visitation from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. Burial will follow at Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Harwell, Scott Schoel, Ryan Walker, Ron Letson, Lance Wenzler, Glenn Cope, Andy Thomas, Gilbert Holley and Jock Barns. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Harwell, James Harwell, Corey Harwell, John Bates, Josh Bates, William Bates, John Frierson, Larry Freeman, Brady Dial and Hunter Lucas.
