Sue taught me in 10th grade DE. I always thought the world of her and was a great influence in turning my life around. I would always ask Jimmy and Steve how she was doing when they were in Lowe’s and to tell her I said hello. She was one of those teachers and person that you always think about when talking of high school memories for me. Sorry to all the family for their loss. She will be greatly missed.

Cathy, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I did not know your mom but she had to be a very special person to have a wonderful daughter like you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I always called Sue "Mrs. Johnson" because I admired and respected her so much. While I never had her for my teacher, her legacy was one of respect and admiration when I joined the Austin High faculty. She was such a sweet lady who did her job well and without drama. Sue Johnson was part of the generation of teachers who made a difference in countless lives of all she met.

I always admired Sue. When I was young I would sit on the piano bench and watch Sue and Joann play the piano. It made me want to play. Sue always had a smile and a hug.
