Theresa Hudson, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, March 14th, in Huntsville. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 17th, at 2pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be eulogized by David Higginbotham.
She was born on July 26, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Harold Gene and Frances Louise States.
Theresa was an extraordinary cook, animal lover, and wildlife rescuer who loved fishing, gardening, and outdoor activities with her beloved family.
She attended Austin and West Morgan High Schools and Albright Business College. Theresa began her career in finance and went on to own and operate several businesses in the North Alabama area. Her favorite career, however, was that of a grandmother. She considered her children to be her greatest accomplishment, and her grandchildren her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Randall Keith States of Smyrna, TN. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Charles (Buzz) Hudson, sons Linn Standridge (Stacey) of Madisonville, LA and Brandon Hudson (Jennifer) of Decatur, AL. Beloved granddaughters, Amelia Standridge, Alexa Hudson, and Ava Hudson, and special grandcousins Linley Higginbotham and Banks Higginbotham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you contribute generously to your favorite charities, and honor Theresa’s memory by performing acts of kindness to others.
