Our beautiful, beloved Momma, how do I put into words in just a few short lines what you meant to us? Words can’t express how thankful I am that God chose you to be our mother.
Life wasn’t easy for you, you worked hard and provided for us and most of the time by yourself, just you and the good Lord. You sacrificed for us. I remember you saying things like this “any sacrifice I made it was because I wanted to, because I love my children.” There was never a doubt about that.
I’ll always remember how you love to give, how very unselfish you were. You gave your heart; you opened your home to others. You love to cook and share with your neighbors.
I remember you cooking homemade biscuits and bringing them out to share at your home in Wesley Acres. You may not have had much monetarily; however, you gave the most valuable gift that could ever be given, LOVE. The Bible speaks in 1 Corinthians 13 of all the good things we can do or have, but if we have not love it won’t profit us anything.
She taught us to put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. She taught us not only in words, but by example, she lived out her faith in Him.
When she failed, she repented, got back up and kept walking with Jesus. She taught us you do the same. Did she do it perfectly no, but none of us do. There’s only one perfect that ever walked this earth, Jesus Christ, the son of God who gave His life so that all who receive Him could be saved.
I tried my best to reassure you that you were the best mom I could’ve ever asked for. We talked about it so much over the last few years, about mistakes that were made, things you wished had been different. The old devil tried to destroy you with sickness, and confusion.
BUT he did not win!
We held onto the scripture 2 Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind."
The day you passed on into eternity, into the arms of your blessed Savior, Jesus Christ, the two last things I heard you say were “I love you; Jeana and I love you, Jesus.
If our precious Momma could tell you anything right now, she would want you to know how very much God loves you and He wants a good life for you, but you have to accept the one who paid the price for you to be able to walk in freedom, and that my friend is Jesus Christ.
I’m so very thankful our precious Momma taught me that we could be free in Jesus Christ! I’m so thankful right now she’s walking on the streets of gold, no more pain, no more heartache, only peace and unending joy in the presence of our glorious God!
One day soon, we’ll join you in praising our Savior around the throne forever with the angels, singing glory to the Lamb of God!
How beautiful heaven must be!
