Walter Anthony Rock

Walter Anthony Rock, 77, longtime resident of Sarasota, FL. Passed away peacefully at ECM Hospital in Florence, AL. on Thursday, May 3, 2018. He was born September 24, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Gregory Rock; son, Clayton James Rock, I (Lanae) of Las Vegas, NV.; daughter, Erin E. McGregor (Craig) of Sarasota, FL.; three grandchildren, Clayton James Rock, II, of Las Vegas, NV./ Muscle Shoals, AL., Ruby and Gage McGregor of Sarasota, FL.; brother Michael James Soroczak (Myra) of Muscle Shoals, AL. sisters, Barbara Clifford (Charles Sr.) of Ottawa, IL. and Kathleen M. Daniels (Timothy) of Cutler Ridge, FL.; two surviving aunts, Theodora Petruska and Helen Petrachevich both of Pittsburgh, PA.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a United States Army Paratrooper101st Airborne Division Engineer Battalion. Walter was an industrial paint salesman and small business owner. He loved golf and traveling across the country on his motorcycle. Walt was a patriot, who loved the Lord, his family and his country. He will always be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Dear cousin Wally, I am pleased I got to know you better in recent years. I will always remember your visit with your lovely wife, Aunt Teddy and my sister-Susan at my daughter's home for a most pleasant evening of remembrances. Love to your precious family, siblings and friends. May your soul repose with the just and all that have passed before us. Your personality will forever be appreciated as a Soroczak.
