So many memories I have of Uncle Wayne and his crazy family! I am honored to say I am part of it. We have had wonderful vacations, holidays and summers spent together on the beach. One of my favorite memories is the original banana slipping slide me and Joy got. He hurt himself on it trying to show us how to do it "right". He was always good for a laugh! I know the family is hurting right now, I know how it feels to lose your father. however I also know they find their strength in knowing he is in heaven with no pain or earthly worries. He is riding around playing golf, listening to oldies and talking it up with my dad. You are truly missed! Rest in peace Uncle Wayne

.Some of the very first words that came out of mouth were Jeff & Waaaayne! It was an honor for me to follow him around as his little mascot for the first dozen years of my life. Wayne treated me like I was the most important person in the universe even though I was five years his junior. It's simply the way he treated everyone. From the up N taters to the down N outters,Wayne Schrimsher loved everyone equally & the same. I always suspected that he walked with one foot in heaven & the keys to glory in his back pocket. Wayne was a hard worker all his life & God honored him for it. He married the right woman & they raised two gorgeous daughters inside & out. He quietly led his life in a victorious manner,without any hint of selfish pride. I remember once he came to see me collect 3 hits in a baseball game when I was 10 years old. Afterwards I lost a sock at the park & he found it for me in a driving rainstorm. Wayne spent his life doing things like this with such a pleasant disposition. I'm still trying to get used to being on planet earth without him...heaven gained a jewel....See U soon,Wayne....Genesis 5:24

I've been told that all brothers fight...Wayne and I were no exception. We could not play any game together without it ending in a fight. However, we never stayed mad for long.

One time when we were sent to our rooms for fighting we tried playing together while leaning out the doors from our rooms.

Most all of my childhood memories involve the Schrimsher family. If it wasn't family vacations together it was weeks I would spend at yall's house during the summer months. Uncle Wayne was always good for a laugh! But most of all Wayne was a wonderful father, husband, friend and uncle and will be missed by many. Uncle Wayne had a heart of gold and a smile on his face all the time. These great memories that I have will never be forgotten and neither will you. Love you!

So much of my life has involved the Schrimshers.  I can't imagine my life without them, they truly are family.  There were so many card games, game nights with our families, pool parties, holiday celebrations and just general time together.  
Wayne would help with math homework when I needed it.  He gave advice when it was time for my first job which led to me being able to work for him at different points in my early working years.  My fondest memories are those times where I was working with him and he treated me as a peer.  He was a good boss and knew his job, I was lucky to be able to call him a boss and friend.  
Wayne loved his coffee and drank lots of it, especially at work.  My favorite memory is when he taught me how to tell if the coffee at work was old, that lesson has served me extremely well over the years.  Thank you Wayne for being a great man.  You are loved and missed.

I have only known Wayne for a little over six years. He was my father in law. From the first time we met he was always kind and accepted me into his family. He was a man a few words but if you could get him talking about sports he could talk for hours. I always enjoy hearing stories about him from Joy especially the ones when she and all her cousins were younger. My favorite one is the time Joy was drowning in the pool and Wayne was taking his time to make sure his pockets were empty before he jumped in to get her. I wish we had gotten the chance to go golfing at least once. From what I hear he was far better at driving a golf ball than he was driving a car. I'm sure there are others out there who rode in a car with him and are thankful to be alive today. I will miss him. And don't worry Wayne I will take good care of Joy.

Wayne was my oldest nephew.  I was seven when he born.  Still being a little girl, I like to play outside with Wayne.  I remember we buried a jar with our names in it and other things we liked.  As far as I know, even though the old pear tree that we buried the jar under was cut down years ago our special memory jar is still there.  When my sister, Jackie and her husband, Tom, used to come up for a visit on Sundays, Wayne used to say "going to Papa's and Kay's".  I think my other sister, Jeannine, was jealous because Wayne said he was coming to se Papa and Kay. At that time he was the only baby we had in the family.  We all spoiled him, and I asked him a few weeks before he passed away how he turned out so good when we petted him so.  He was so good to take care of his mother when she was nearing her death. Her eyes always sought him when his named was mentioned. When I think of Wayne I see the precious little boy that gave our family so much pleasure.

Some especially sweet things that I can remember about Wayne. (I am his aunt, his mother's sister). When he was about 2, he had been to the beach with his parents, Jackie and tom Schrimsher.
When they finally made that long drive home and Jackie was putting him in his little bed, he said, "Thank you Mommy". They were all so tired and proud to be home.
I remember seeing a picture of Wayne holding Stacey with Joy standing beside them and the adoring way that Wayne was looking at his precious baby, Stacey. I remember the time they were spending a few days with their grandmother and we looked out the window and saw Wayne and Jeff coming up from toward the creek and Wayne had been hurt a little. Jeff was helping him to walk. This was especially sweet because those two brothers were known to fight quite a bit, as most boys do. 
I will always remember how very kind Wayne was. He was too kind for his own good.
I remember how Wayne sitting beside his mother's bedside for days before she died just nine months before he died.

Uncle Wayne I will always remember your infectious smile no matter what kind of day you had we could always count on a smile. I loved coming down for vacation and singing with you, one of our first songs we sang was Just A swinging! We did pretty good too! You always had such a tender heart and a kind and sweet spirit! Love you and you will be missed terribly

Uncle Wayne, I will never forget your big smile no matter if you had a bad day or not you always had a big smile on your face. One of my first trio songs was  Just a swinging with you and Isaac  weren't that bad either!  Aunt Ann, Joy and Stacey I'm so sorry for your loss and I love you guys very much!

Wayne was nearly grown when I was born.  He was always sweet and kind to me.  He was very special to my mom, Kay. I remember going to our grandmother's house for Christmas and all of my cousins were there.  Wayne liked to watch ball games on TV.  I remember when he and Ann married and when his daughters were born.  He was so proud of his girls. Gina Wiley Lehman

First I would like to say how sorry I am to my amazing family for their loss.  I love my uncle's kind spirit. I love his red face and his hair all over his head. As a child I would go golfing with him and we may have flipped a cart or two. Golfing was the only time I ever witnessed him losing his cool.  You will be missed...I love you

I am so sorry for your loss.  Ann and Wayne were neighbors of mine and their family is very dear to me.  We shared great memories together and many of them centered around playing cards. Poor Wayne didn't always want to play but he was a great sport and always joined in the fun.  We will all miss Wayne.  He was a kind person, a good father and a good husband.

Uncle Wayne, I was 10 when you entered my life, and 50 when you left it. You gave me my love of reading, and took me to my first Concert. It was July 17, 1975,  at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville AL. Seals & Croft sang our favorite song~ "Summer Breeze"~. 3 years later I got to pick out the name of your first born daughter!! I love you Summer Joy.

Wayne, thank you for everything you did for my family. Thank you for being such a good dad to Stacey who as my best friend growing up; I got to enjoy all the great things we got to do together. You will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

I have a lot of fond memories of Wayne. Growing up with the Schrimshers was very special, they were friends who quickly became family. There was a time that Wayne and my dad had to watch us 5 girls. I remembering loving when they watched us because he would let us get away with a little more than our moms would.allow. Also being allowed to watch scary movies that were way too scary for us. I will forever be scared of clowns and sewers bc of him allowing us to watch he movie 'It.' I look back and see Wayne in my childhood. I will always hold on to the memories our families made together.

I am so sorry for your loss. I only learned of Wayne's passing this afternoon. Wayne and I worked together for many years at Kroger. I have been retired for nearly 10 years and many of my contacts are gone. He spoke of his family and his parents often with me.
