William Ted Cartee

Private burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Cartee, who died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Feb. 17, 1957, in Morgan County to Carl and Lois Cartee. He was a 1975 graduate of West Morgan High School and was a retired pipefitter in the construction business. He served in the Army National Guard. Ted was an avid reader and a Civil War buff. He was a dedicated father to his daughter, Carlee Marie, and was loved dearly by his nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Carlee Marie Cartee of Trinity; step-son Taylor Dunaway of Priceville; his mother, Lois Cartee of Trinity; three brothers, Jerome Cartee (Jean) of Decatur, Steve Cartee of Trinity and Jon Cartee of Decatur; one sister, Denise Cartee Cooper of Huntsville; nephews, Kane, Skye, Colton and Evan; nieces, Crystal and Chloe; and great-nieces, Alanna and Isabella.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
