

William B. “Dub” Webster, 87, of Athens, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Webster was born on February 18, 1934 to James Samuel Webster and Etma Lee White Webster.
Mr. Webster is survived by his children, Bill Webster (Karoline), Vince Webster (Yvonne), Shannon Webster, and Eric Webster (Sarah); grandchildren, Ericka Zirbel (John), Erin Garrison, Heath Garrison (Ashley), Vin Webster (Laura), Chris Webster (Kristi), Cody Webster (Whitney), Trey Garrison, Carson Webster (Blair), Connor Webster (Reagen), Faulkner Webster, Caleb Webster; great-grandchildren, Emily Frances Zirbel, Shannon Anners, Maggie Zirbel, Liam Anners, Ellie Garrison, Will Webster, Josh Webster, Zoe Garrison, Grant Webster, Luke Webster, Leif Garrison, Willa Claire Zirbel, Merit Webster and Finn Garrison; brother, Donald Webster (Martha); sister Bonnie Acker (Dick).
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Frances Frassrand Webster; sisters, Elaine Webster, LaVetta Kull, and Jean Ryan; brothers, James Webster and Lex Webster.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Webster will be Saturday, September 4th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church, 10509 Segars Road, Madison, AL 35756, with Father Joy Chalissery officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Decatur, AL.
Mr. Webster grew up on a farm in Fayette County. In high school he was a member of FFA which led him to pursue a profession in agriculture. He was a graduate of Winfield High School and Auburn University. Upon graduation from Auburn, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his time in Ft. Benning, GA. Mr. Webster was a long-time director of the Auburn University Agriculture Research and Extension Center at Belle Mina. As he neared retirement, he moved to Riverbend Community in Decatur and generously supplied the neighborhood with fresh vegetables from his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-children and supporting them at all of their events.
