OBITUARY
Adrian Cabral
March 29, 1927 – January 2, 2021
CABRAL - Adrian, age 93, of North Babylon, NY passed away peacefully on January 2nd 2021. Beloved husband of Janet for 68 years. Loving Father of Alison and Dan Melia. perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much whatever the part.

I have such fond memories of Adrian. He was always pleasant with a big smile on his face and a spring in his step. He was a happy man.
He was so kind to my children as he showed them little magic tricks, pretending to be a Wizard who was best friends with a princess. My two young daughters at the time were so enthralled. He was the Wizard to them and always will be.
He and his wife Janet had a love that I’ll always admire. They were ballroom dancing right up until the time it was no longer possible.
His daughter Alison will cherish many happy memories of her loving, doting father. She shared these with me over the years, so I was able to see what a tight knit loving family Adrian had.
He will certainly be missed. May he Rest In Peace.

I was a young girl of 12 when I met the Cabrals. I immediately became best friends with Alison and her parents became like mine. They took me every where with them. One of my fondest memories is when Adrian taught me to ski. I was slow and always scared to come down the hill fast. He had so much patience guiding me down and waiting as I slowly made my way. He never gave up on me.
He will forever remain in my heart with loving memories.

Dear Adrian,
We love you and will never forget you. So proud to be part of your family with roots to your father’s land. You personified gentleness and good manners, generosity and warm with that twinkle of humor in the eye. Your smile was always bright and welcoming. All the Cabrals south of the border will so miss and remember you. Heaven is now your home.

A very good friend for over 40 years. We worked for different non profits and we were glued to each other for over 20 years. His care for the poor and disenfranchised was legend. He could accomplish the most difficult negotiations with political people to help the poor.
Adrian, and Janet, along with my wife, Joan were great pals, and dinner partners . You will be always missed.
