OBITUARY

Angelo J Sbrocchi

February 18, 1936March 6, 2020

To the living, I am gone. To the sorrowful, I will never return. To the angry, I was cheated, but to the happy, I am at peace and to the faithful, I have never left. I cannot be seen, but I can be heard. So as you stand, upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea – remember me. As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty - remember me. As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity – remember me. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.

Angelo and I became good friends back in the 1960's when he organized and was president of the Deer Park Pistol Club of which I became a member. We had some very good times together participating in matches against other Long Island shooting clubs. I recall that one year he was able to acquire several M-1 Garand rifles from the Springfield Armory with which we were able to practice our rifle marksmanship. Angelo was a staunch and dedicated supporter of the 2nd Amendment. RIP Angelo, your friendship and dedication to the shooting sports have not been forgotten.

I had the pleasure of knowing Angelo both professionally and as a friend!
I worked at the old World of Guns on Gazza Blvd. for a couple of years before I was sworn into the SCPD... Back in those days hiring was under a microscope due to federal mandates, and I remember my Applicant Investigator calling several days before my class was sworn in- he told me it was OK to let my family know BUT he told me DO NOT tell Angelo that a class was "secretly" being sworn in. . . . .Because he said, "Once Angelo knows, the world will know! "
I hope Ang eventually forgave me for leaving without giving him notice (He did!).
Rest in Peace Brother!
