Betty T. Roberts

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Betty Ann Thompson Roberts passed away at the age of 76 peacefully in her home in Deer Park NY, on June 12th, 2025. Born on May 24th, 1949, she was raised by her mother, Josephine Thompson Grant in Fincastle Virginia.

She was the heart of our family and home that started when she married the late Samuel Ronald Roberts on February 10th, 1979. Who she missed dearly after 39 cherished years of marriage. Together they raised 2 children, Dera Janie Roberts and Ronald Ahmad Roberts in a happy and loving home. Betty was a grandmother of 3, Saamir Alfred (16), Milani Ava Roberts (4) with another granddaughter on the way. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Janie Rose, who shared many memories throughout their lifetime together.

Betty was a patient, intelligent, hardworking mother and educator. After retiring from Verizon Telecommunications after 20+ years of employment, she graduated from Suni Old Westbury College in 2004, with a bachelor’s degree in the Science of Computer and Information Technology. With a passion and love for education, she earned a teaching certificate and worked as a teacher at Walter G O’Connell Copiague High School.

The viewing service will be on June 25, 2025 from 10-12:30pm at Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home located at 1785 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park NY 11729. Followed by prayer service from 12pm to 12:30 pm. The funeral will follow at 1pm at the Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
