Dolores Kelly

Dolores Maryann Pietrowski Kelly of Deer Park, New York passed away surrounded by family on May 9th, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born on April 18th, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Edward and Jean Pietrowski, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings Patricia Laine, Edward Pietrowski, and Barbara Garvey. On September 8th, 1962, Dolores married John Thomas Kelly in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Together, they raised a beautiful family of six children: Michael Joseph Kelly (Sue), Deborah Ann Waterbury (Michael), Margaret ‘Peggy’ Jean Kelly (Keith), John Thomas Kelly (Lynn),Christine Ann Lynch, and Erin Serrano (Michael). She was a loving grandmother to fourteen grandchildren: Joseph, Daniel, Ian, Linsey, Tyler, Courtney, Jack, Davis, Caleigh, Meghan, Jackson, Ronan, Teagan, and Rori.

Dolores was a warm and welcoming person who made friends easily. Her most endearing quality was her ability to connect with all, whether one was a friend from childhood or standing behind her in the grocery line. She loved spending time with her loved ones and was always available to lend a listening ear. Her infectious personality left a mark on all who had the privilege to know her and was often referred to as a second mother to many. Dolores will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kind and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate and honor the life of Dolores Maryann Pietrowski Kelly. Family and friends may visit Friday, May 12th, 2:00 pm-4:30 pm and 7:00 pm-9:30 pm at the Claude R. Boyd - Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. A funeral Mass will be celebrated or Dolores on Saturday, May 13th at 9:00 am at St Patrick's RC Church, 9 Clinton Ave, Bay Shore, NY 11706.
