Ella Maria Hammer November 21, 1921- September 17, 2017

Entered into eternal life peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters. Beloved mother of Loretta, Susan (Bob) and Monica (Ken). Adored grandmother of Dawn, Chad, Keith , Christopher, Sarah, Jonny, Ryan and Ella. Cherished great grandmother of Ethan, Logan, Ashley, Jenna, Paige and Hunter. “Nonnie” was the center of our family showering us with her deep love, joy and generosity. She taught us to be smarter, stronger and better in so many ways.

Ella loved her work of 32 years as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Germaine Monteil in Deer Park. After retirement she volunteered at St. Cyril’s Thrift Store where she served those in need. She was born in Leipzig, Germany, following the war she married and immigrated to NY where she raised her family. She was an amazing mother, incredible chef, baker, astute shopper, always thinking of others and how she could make their lives easier and happier. She was a very hard worker and was gifted with many talents. She will be terribly missed.
