OBITUARY

Emmanuel "Boy" M Pangan

October 16, 1936July 1, 2019

To the living, I am gone. To the sorrowful, I will never return. To the angry, I was cheated, but to the happy, I am at peace and to the faithful, I have never left. I cannot be seen, but I can be heard. So as you stand, upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea – remember me. As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty - remember me. As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity – remember me. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.

Sending my thoughts and praye'rs to Emma, Manny and fam. in this most difficult time.. so sorry for your untimely loss. However, take solace in the fact that "the God of all Comfort"(2Corinthians 1:3-4) may comfort and soothe your heart.
"BOY" (as he's fondly called by all those who know him) is/was well-loved by the Phil-Am Community. He was O, so full of life.. the last time I spoke to him when he was back in Long Island..

Brod, I still cannot believe the news of your passing. Remember, we still have a date on February 22, 2020 for your induction as an incoming officer of the Filipino American Association of Long Island. You even asked us to come earlier and stay longer in order to have more bonding time together. When we last talked over the phone you emphasized that you wanted to see the family especially your nephews and nieces. Kenneth and Owen who are both here in the Philippines and Jeska and her husband Vito who are both in Singapore are arranging their schedules to come together with me for our grand reunion. Dea is now in New Zealand. You are koyang Boy to me but until now the children fondly call you 'uncle doctor '. You even told me to bring and wear a 'barong' for the big day.
Brod, you will be greatly missed. I have no more brother to talk with in New York.
Your personal recorded songs (cd) which you gave to me will forever be treasured. You can now sing and have your concerts in heaven.
Brod, there is much to be thankful for, you had always been my big brother even when we were miles apart. I will never forget our last conversation which was full of laughter and jokes. That last time you said you were ok (but with some sickness), maybe you just don't want me to worry. I never thought you were that ill.
We love you. You are now with Papa. Say 'hi' to him for me.

Always,
Mario

The first time I met you, when you stood as a "Consorte" of a barrio beauty queen in a Fiesta of Barrio Sucad way back in Dec. 13, 1958. You were then a dashing medical student admired by your Cabalen for your intelligence and good looks. The Second time was in Los Angeles where you attended a party and dance for the Apaliteneos residing in Southern California. I remember your singing of MY WAY to the delight of the crowd. Farewell Dr. Boy Pangan.

My dear "Kababayan " Boy,

You will be greatly missed, my friend. You were warm and fun-loving. We have fond memories of the Bicolandia moonlight cruises on the Hudson, the Long Island parties you hosted, and most of all your performances with Dr Rollie Aquino and Dr. Bernie de la Merced.

We are lucky to be your friends.
Rest in peace now and God welcomes you in heaven.

Coyang Boy. I miss you already. It was fun when we were in Tecson. That apartment is gone too. Ima, my mom and Tatang Godo, your dad, and Ninang. The care package you sent us from the States. We were all so proud of you. All of us your first cousins, the Pangan clan, remember the way you laugh, the singing. You are " Mr. Entertainer." You'll be in our prayers. Heaven is waiting for you.
