Gifford Alfonso Brooks, 85, of Wyandanch, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Huntington Hospice. Gifford was born on Feb 11, 1938 in Chestang, AL to the late Coleman and Jessina Brooks. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic School.
Gifford is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eloise L. Brooks and parents, Coleman and Jessina Brooks, brother Coleman Brooks, sister Louise Drayton and sister-in-law Catherine Brooks. Those left to cherish his memories are his children Mattie Ambrose, Paul Wright (Doris) and Melvin Kittles (Diane); grandchildren Victor S. Jackson, Ronnie Ambrose, Katherine Ambrose; two brothers Roosevelt Brooks (Joyce) and Edd C. Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A chapel service will be held on Friday, November 12th at 9:30 a.m. at Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1729 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
