John J. Scheid

John was pre-deceased by his wife of 50 years, Caroline and his infant daughter Christine Lisa. He had a beautiful family he loved spending time with including his children Carol Ann, Robert (Kathy), Mary Beth, John (Dawn) and his grandchildren Patrick (dec.), Michael (Jackie), Nicky, Brian, Kristina, Megan, Heather, Matthew and Connor. He was also blessed with two beautiful great grandchildren Theo and Riley. He also had a large, extended family including many nieces and nephews that he adored.

John was Brooklyn born and raised before moving to Long Island to raise his family. He was active for many years with the Babylon Lions Club before he moved to Florida full time following his wife’s passing.

During his Florida years he loved spending time at the beach and was also a member of the Largo Elks Lodge. He moved back to Long Island 2 years ago and spent many happy moments with his family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday May 31, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 666 Albin Ave, West Babylon, on June 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm, followed by a Committal Service at St Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY, on June 1, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
