Luz was born on March 28th, 1943, in Utuado, PR. She was the daughter of Maria, Oliva and Lorenzo Gonzalez of Utuado, PR. In 1962, Luz came from Puerto Rico to Glen Cove, NY. For over 40 years, Luz successfully owned her own cleaning business named by Nellie's Finishing Touch.
Luz is the devoted mother to Joseph Mestres (Geri) and Grisel Meir (Stefan). She is survived by her brother Manuel Gonzalez, and greeted in heaven by Israel and Alfredo Gonzalez. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Nicole, Madison, Taylor, Tiffany, Brandon (fiance Ashley), Lorenzo, Jessica and Olivia. Her memory will be cherished by her great grandchildren Stella, Jayden and James.
