

Mary Darlene “Lena” Felton (nee’ McQueen) started her life’s journey on October 9, 1958. She is the daughter of Glennie R. McQueen and Mary L. McQueen (nee’ Lewis). She is the sister of Kathy, Michael R., Lisa A., and Chantay L. She is loving “SisterCousin” to Pamela. She is the proud mother of NorTarshia A. and Porshia D. She is the SUPER proud ‘granny’ of D’Jai M., Nasir A., Zoey A., Gavin L., and Aiyla S.
Born the first of five siblings Mary worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and caregiver for many years and enjoyed making sure others were taken care of. Mary took great pride and pleasure in caring for her maternal grandparents, Isaac & Millie Lewis. She was a member of the Wassamasaw Indian Nation.
Lena, as she was affectionately called by loved ones, was best known for her cooking and style. She could ‘burn” and “wear a shoe”. She loved music and to dance and was a lifelong Frankie Beverley & Maze fan. She had an undying love for her family that extended across all the generations.
She maintained a fighter spirit, despite her failing health and continued fighting for many years. She never lost her spunk nor her spark until she peacefully transcended this world to her final resting place joining her parents and other loved ones that have gone before her.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Arlo A Tutein III.
Mary D. “Lena” Felton leaves behind two daughters NorTarshia and Porshia and five grandchildren; D’Jai, Nasir, Zoey, Gavin and Aiyla. Four siblings; Kathy, Michael, Lisa (Victor) and Chantay (Leon) as well as a host of family and friends that are honored to have witnessed such a magnificent journey that was her life.
