To the family and friends of Mary, she was just an angel. Everyone says it because it’s true. She had a heart of gold and was there for everyone. I enjoyed her company and  many times had conversations of different subjects and she was always so interesting to talk to.  How lucky your family was to have her, I’m sure she’s joined by All her loved ones up in heaven. I’m sorry for your loss

Dear Family,

I'm a friend of the Mandia family, last time I saw Mary, Laura was visiting with her, they saw me at the side door of the Mandia home, and called me inside.

Mary immediately said "this is the paneling work your DAD did, many years ago - I enjoyed the visit and many times I wanted to contact her to visit, or bring her cookies.

I remember Mary working at the best bakery around, Cream Puff, I still vision her behind the counter.  Russ the BARBER, next door (still a barbershop at that location).  
One of the last surviving neighbors on W. 21st Street that I knew - although in her 90's, I have fond memories of her! 
I remember Laura would always rush outside to rake leaves, she said, "Mary keeps her property so neat, I don't want leaves blowing on her property"!

If I had known she passed, I would have attended at least the MASS, although it would have meant more to me to see her for a visit.  I tell people, if you have a thought like this, act on it, don't say "would have"; should have - and so on.

I lived on Pearl Street in Deer Park (between Commack Rd., and Nicolls) - we moved there from Brooklyn in 1957 - that house is now of sale - it saddens me because with renovations to it, to me, NO LONGER HAS the warmth it had - there use to be the "apple orchard farm down the block" - people living their now are returning to Colorado.

When I'm in the area, I usually tour where I lived  and W. 21st St  -  spent a lot of time with Laura, and attended her 90th Birthday celebration.  Knowing the family over 50 years, we always had fond memories and conversations!

Recently saw someone outside your home and wanted to roll down my window, but didn't.

God Bless you all - Mary and Laura (and my best friend Marie) all together again!  Russ and Dean - gone at a young age - that does GIVE ME COMFORT - as it should you as well!

Calverton is a distance - however, when I visit Maria, I'll visit Mary as well!

To the Szewczuk family. I wish to share with you The sadness and loss of your mom.mother-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren and anyone else Who is related and friends of hers. Mary was such a beautiful and unique individual and I was very lucky to have had many memories with her, she always went above and beyond for everyone and had a good heart.I never heard her talk bad of anyone but she was a straight shooter said as things were. She is no longer in pain and is at peace, my condolences to all.  love Patti. 😘
