I remember Rena’s escarole soup and  her red sauce which she would run back to the kitchen to stir - she would put down the phone and go and stir then return and carry on talking … wonderful ❤️

Rena was a very special part of The Huntington Club, Inc. She was a member for 31 years and served on the Executive Board for 8 years.
Everyone loved Rena.  She always ready to help in any way that she could and she loved her job of finding restaurants and catering places for our meetings.  She was an integral part of our craft group. The club sold these works of art at our October luncheons.  Rena’s creations always sold right away.  Almost every room in my home has some kind of decor made by Rena.  
For many years when we were younger, she was a part of a group of six or seven women who met at Sunken Meadow Beach to walk the Boardwalk early in the morning after which we would go out to breakfast.  We did this 5 days a week and when it rained or snowed  we would walk at Walt Whitman Mall.  She had so many stories to tell that she could have written a book.  Rena will be greatly missed.
She made a difference.

I grew up next to the Bosco’s .  Our street originally only had three houses on it - the DeMarzo’s, Bosco’s and Bissonette’s.  We became a family, not just neighbors.    Our parents were bus drivers  for Half Hollow Hills.  The children were all around the same age and our parents became very close.  Since Rena had two boys, she thought of Michele, Susan, Linda and I as her daughters. I have a lot of fond memories of her.  When Linda and I went to Germany in 1962, Rena made us matching dresses to wear on the plane.  She also made a wedding dress and a cocktail dress for my Barbie Doll, which I still have today.  Every Christmas Eve, my Dad, Linda and I would go to Rena’s before  midnight Mass.  I have fond memories of the time Mom, Linda , Rena and I went to Peddler’s Village.  When my Mom had a stroke, Rena used her sewing talents to make pretty bibs  and halters for my Mom.  Rena was the last parent  to leave our family and  has now join our parents and continues to watch  over us all.  Rena was a wonderful and caring person who lived her life to the fullest - traveling and spending time with her family.  Rena will always be remembered and will truly be missed.  Billy and John you are in my thoughts and prayers - know that you are loved and we are here for you always.

I lived next to the Boscos growing up and Rena was the "other mother" to us.  Since she only had the boys I swear she thought of my sister Michele and I and  Margaret Ann and Linda DeMarzo on the other side of her house as her daughters.   Since she was a wonderful seamstress she made my barbie clothes.  They were the most beautiful dresses you have ever seen.  For my wedding dress she and my mother went thru every bridal store she knew and they sent me the dresses from NY to CA where I lived at the time to try on.   Isn't that typical Rena to do this.   So many memories of her with a smile on her face.  Best to you Billy and John. 


My parents moved into their house the same time that Rena and Sonny moved in. Three families lived on Wildwood Avenue - DeMarzo’s , Bosco’s and Bissonette’s. We were more than neighbors - we were family .
I don’t know too many neighbors that have had the close bond that we have all shared over the years.
 I have so many memories of Rena —growing up - and visiting with her and after I moved away . 
Rena made my wedding veil -
My dad, Vito, me and my sister would go over to Rena’s on Christmas Eve before we went to midnight mass.
All three neighbors were school bus drivers - what a site - to see the buses parked on the street . 
Rena was a strong -wonderful woman , great neighbor and I am blessed to have known her my entire life .
She is the last of the original neighbors to pass on - I am truly saddened - it is the end or an era.
Hoping they are all together in Heaven and having drinks

Aunt Rena always greeted me with a warm welcome, interesting conversation and a good sense of humor. My deepest condolences to her family - may she Rest In Peace and add her charm to heaven.
