HARD TO BELIEVE RIC HAS BEEN GONE FOR 2 YEARS. BOTH JACKIE AND I CONSIDERED RIC AND KATHY TO BE CLOSE PERSONAL FRIENDS AND WE MISS RIC GREATLY. MAY HE REST IN PEACE. GOD BLESS HIS MEMORY.

I am so sad with the news of my neighbors passing. What an amazing man and idol he was while I watched him in the summer working hard on his lawn.  He was such a strong man when he would go out on his bicycle or set up for the camping trips. I will always remember him and still do as I look out my window. To his lovely wife and sons our hearts are with you. And sorry about leaning this news so late in time.

I just learned of Rick's passing. I  met you both @ the Mari Gras Run this year.  I wanted to meet the guy that started the started the 10 mile run. You were both so gracious and giving.  I did not know Rick, only have that one brief engagement but it left an impression on me. I suspect that is the case for some any others. 

Rick will be remembered.

I remember Ricky when I was growing up, he was a good friend of my older brother Dan (RIP).  He was a great guy, and was always so nice to me as the little kid trying to tag along.  My Mother and Father thought the world of him.

The saga of Ric and Cousin John began around 1952 in the Quonset Huts in the Bronx. Cousin Susan was our running mate. Things moved to 1614 Van Buren St.  - better known as Pop’s house -  and the fun at Di Veglio family parties . Always a long trek from Brooklyn! The fun shifted to Williston Park, Hunter Mtn., OBP, weddings, and finally Prarie Dr. and families. The fun times have taken a hiatus until we meet again. The Saga of Ric and Cousin John will be off and running again - this time in a far better place.

A wonderful Man, so full of life and love. I am grateful to have had  him in my life. 
I will miss you. 

Richard was the sweetest man I have ever met in my career. Even in his toughest moments he was still smiling and talking about his wife, children and grandchild. His small stories he shared with me, made a large and lasting impression. He has forever touched me as a person and a healthcare professional. I will never forget him. 

Ric was a kind and generous person. He was very devoted to his family and was very loyal to the GLIRC Family.  It was a pleasure to work with Ric on so many events and as co-race director one year of the Hohoho run.  You will be missed! May God bless you!

We first met Ric when he joined the Section 8 house on Fire Island over 50 years ago. He was a perfect fit. He was smart, witty, unselfish and a US Air Force veteran in a summer house full of veterans. Ric became popular and well liked by all who met him.  He met Kathy and their summer romance grew into  almost 50 years of marriage! Our friendship with the DiVeglio's grew as time went on. We enjoyed canoe trips, beach parties, backyard events along with Frank's great 4th of July parties.  Ric also became a valued member of different softball teams over the years with the same teammates.
But our best memories were our "quieter" relaxing dinners over at "Camp DiVeglio" at Cedar Beach with beautiful sunsets and time spent with good friends.
Ric you will be greatly missed.

I am heartbroken to hear of Rick’s passing. We shared many a training run to the breweries .He was always upbeat and was a good conversationalist.Rick gave his all and was a gentlemanly warrior.He made a difference in so many lives.Rick will always be remembered fondly and may god bless his soul.
