To the living, I am gone. To the sorrowful, I will never return. To the angry, I was cheated, but to the happy, I am at peace and to the faithful, I have never left. I cannot be seen, but I can be heard. So as you stand, upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea – remember me. As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty - remember me. As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity – remember me. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.

Being one of "the little ones", it was easy to feel lost in the bunch of grownups at Grandma's house in Deer Park. Uncle Rich was a quiet person, but the fun one who sat and made craft projects with us, took us outside to shoot cans with his BB gun... He always knew what the exciting, cool toys were - and loved to watch us open up whatever surprise he'd picked out. Those are some of the times I think of him being the happiest, just sharing childhood fun. Dan and I were sharing these kind of memories this week, and they're sweet ones.

I will always remember my Uncle Rich. Never too busy to spend time with me as a child. We had lots of fun trying out his latest gadget. He was a true patriot who loved and served his country. He loved his family very much.
He has been ill for so long, but not anymore. Now he is with Jesus! So long for now, see you soon.
Love, Joy
