Ahhhhh Reetz, way too soon my good friend, way too soon. 🥲

I’m so sad about Rita’s passing. We went back many years, through so many of my pups in her care. She took such amazing care of my Gina Marie after the pitbull attack, & her long recuperation. I’m very grateful that we got to get together & relive some good memories at a wonderful lunch together. You’ll never be forgotten, Rita, by the countless animals you helped.. & the many humans as well 🐾
Rest easy, my friend, until we meet again. 🙏🩵💐

To the family of Rita Maltese,
I met Rita many years ago in 1996 when my son rescued and domesticated a feral kitten named Goldie and she was working at Dr Kramer's vet office in Huntington Station. Years later in 2008, we met her again when my son adopted a male bearded dragon called Willy. We paid Rita to come to our house and care for Willy when we were away. After Willy died in 2011, Rita encouraged us to adopt a cute little female bearded dragon from Selmer's Pet Store, who was missing a toe on one of her claws  that my son named Petrie from the Land Before Time movie. Petrie was a delight and Rita enthusiastically came to our house, and with love, took care of Petrie whenever my family was away from our home.
 Petrie loved a long seven years. Even after we lost Petrie, I tried to thank Rita every once in a while since then over the past 5 years. Rita had a magic touch with both Willy and Petrie, so that they were delightful pets. Rita was so special as an animal lover. I still remember her first smile when we brought Goldie to Dr Kramer over thirty years ago. I was astounded and happy whenever she took care of both Willy and Petrie in our home for over ten years. Rita in her own special way with animals, made this world a better place. Take care, from the Al Walker family in Melville.

This is so sad, I remember her kindness, and love of animals. She excepted me into the West Hills family with open arms. This hurts the hearts of many! My deepest condolences to all her friends and family! May she rest easy. Heaven gained another angel.

Rita was a dear sweet friend. She loved her pets as much as she loved her family and friends. Her passing has left a void in my heart. She was to young and full of life to be gone so soon. I will miss her more then words can express. Your in God's hands now my dear friend. Bless you and hope you are with your Dad, lost friends and your lost pets. Will love you and miss you forever. 🙏🙏🙏
