

Rocco J. Budani, 85, of Wantagh, New York, passed away on January 5, 2026, with his daughter by his side. Born on May 12, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, Rocco was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, companion, and friend. He lived a life rooted in hard work, family, faith, service, and tradition, values that guided him throughout his years. A devoted father and grandfather, Rocco is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Luckow, and her partner, Paul Cannon. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Patrick Budani and son-in-law Michael Luckow. He was a proud grandfather to Hunter Luckow, Luke Luckow, Shane Luckow, and Dylan Calero.
Rocco is also survived by his companion, Roberta Wolf; his sisters, Rosalie Sinacore and Terri Chin; and his brother, Joseph Budani. He was predeceased by his sisters, AnnMarie Papalardo and Janet Tarsia. A man of strength, generosity, loyalty, humor, and quiet wisdom, Rocco was a devoted family man known for his strong work ethic and proud service as a serviceman. He found great joy in
boating and fishing, horse racing, playing cards, and cooking, especially his famous bolognese. Whether he was fishing, spending time with his four “bodyguards,” as he lovingly referred to his grandsons, who were his greatest pride and joy, enjoying the excitement of the racetrack, telling stories, or gathering with family, Rocco’s presence brought warmth and laughter to those around
him. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Claude R. Boyd/Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, 1150 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. Interment
will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Rocco J. Budani will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
