On August 20, 1977, William found the love of his life, Faye L. Adams (he called her “His Sweetie Pie”); she was his love for a life time. They reside in Deer Park, NY. From this union they had one son, William C. Jr. and he was blessed with a daughter-in-law Natasha Hope. The other love of his life – his grand-dog, Yoda!
This summer William and Faye celebrated 35 years of marriage enjoying the Outer Banks in NC with his close cousin Melvin (Mel) and his wife Regina.
Brother Bill was a member of Springfield Garden Church of Christ. He worked full-time in the ministry and loved God’s people. Sharing the gospel was his life’s mission.
The family can write all about his educational journey but for him this was not the important aspect of his life and it was not done to impress people but just to prepare him for his life’s journey toward God.
He leaves to mourn: his wife Faye, son William Jr., daughter-in-law Natasha (grand-dog Yoda), his in-laws Leroy and Dorothy Adams. Siblings: Samuel (Sam) Coppin (Patti), Claudia Johnson, Van Johnson (Betty), Debbie Frazier, Staci Gorden, Leslie Mackie (Joe), Bruce Gorden. Sister-in-laws Sandra Martin (Emrod), Conrad Adams (Addie), Senator Eric Adams, Leroy Adams and Bernard Adams (Sharon).
There were many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that had surrounded his life to name them all, I might surely leave out one, so rest assured if you seek God there you will find our Brother Bill, our beloved Minister, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Mentor and Friend.
Faye, Natasha and I would like to thank ALL of you for your prayers, phone calls and visits during this difficult time. We share in your pain as well, because we know what kind of impact he made in your lives. While we feel the sadness and sting, you can rest assured the he is in Heaven, praising the name of the Most High God. He dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel of Jesus, hoping that all that heard it would come to know Christ for the Savior that He is. His mission had come to completion, and he is Home with all of those other faithful soldiers of God. If you want to see him again, live a life worthy to be called Home as well. One day, I hope all the read this will be able to “…gather at that river….that flows by the throne of God”
