Barbara Friedman

Barbara grew up and attended elementary and high school in upstate New York, graduating from Worcester Central School in 1964. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and later a Master of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy NY. Her nursing career took her to North Carolina, Ohio, New York & Florida in various positions of increasing responsibility. With all she accomplished and all the patients she helped, Barbara was most proud of the 2 years she spent at Camp Lejeune, NC as a Navy Nurse caring for the injured returning from Viet Nam, the young recruits training for deployment to Vietnam and the marines and their families stationed at Camp Lejeune.

Her children were the 4-legged kind: Riley, Simba & Frankie, with whom she is now playing on the clouds and Onxy & Scotch who shared her life for the last 10 years.

Barbara made an impact on many lives and will be missed and remembered by those whose lives she touched.An inurnment service for Barbara’s ashes will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. This will be followed at 1:00 PM by a Celebration of Life for Barbara at Legends Tavern & Grille, 1391 S Military Trail, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442.
