Barbara N. Mahoney

Mahoney, Barbara N. April 20, 1950, passed away on August 31, 2011 at Mount Sinai Hospital with her family by her side. She graduated from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY. Barbara worked as a court reporter in Garden City New York as well as with the grand jury. After moving to Florida, Barbara worked as a paralegal in Ft. Lauderdale, FL until she retired in 1998.

She is survived by her loving husband Bob of Deerfield Beach, FL; and daughter Renee Swift and son-in-law Joseph Swift of Davie Florida; granddaughter Ashley Marie of Davie, FL; sister Chickie DeLuca of Elmont, NY; she was predeceased by her sister Claire Impellizzieri of Spring Hill, FL; Niece Denise Edgar of Coram, NY; Nephew Michael DeLuca of Levittown, NY; Niece Bernadette Kramer of Spring Hill, FL; John Impellizzieri of Spring Hill, FL; Niece Faith Chiaromonte of Weeki Wachee, FL; and her faithful companion Duke Mahoney, their Labrador retriever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Barbara’s name, to the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, located in Miami, FL; the Leukemia Society or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2011, between the hours of 3:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00 PM, at Kraeer Funeral Home, located at 217 East Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach, FL 954-427-5544.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, September 5, 2011, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, located at 380 South Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL, 954-427-2225.
