

Gauthier, Eleanor Bernadette (Rimbold), 84 beloved wife of Raymond Gauthier(affectionately known as her extraordinary caregiver by their children) passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2010 after a 13 year struggle with the progression of Alzheimer's disease. Her parents immigrated from France and she , her sister and three brothers were raised in a French-American community in Western Massachusetts where she attended Precious Blood School and Church. As a young woman she was often the lively center of family gatherings playing her piano as family and friends sang along. She married Karol Lush in July 1946. In March 1955 she married Ray, who is now a retired Air Force Veteran. During Ray's military career, the family relocated from Massachusetts to live in France, Washington D.C., Georgia and California before settling in Florida in 1979. Ellie is survived by her children, Carole(Matthew)Haley, Gary Lush, Leslie(Anthony)Ezzo, Jeffrey(Zita)Gauthier. A devoted grandmother to Faith(Luke), Erica, Nicole, Danielle and Victoria. Loving great grandmother to Kai. Her grandchildren will cherish their after school visits to her house for piano lessons, laughter and snacks as well as tenderly caring for her when she could no longer care for herself. She is also survived by her sister, Esther Buchanan and several nieces and nephews who were all touched by her fun-loving and spirited personality. We have all buried her spirit in our hearts. Friends may call Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm( a wake service will be held at 7:00pm) at Kraeer - Becker Funeral Home and Cremation Center,217 East Hillsboro Blvd. Deerfield Beach, FL. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 9:30am at St Ambrose Catholic Church 380 S. Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL. Interment will take place at a later date in South Hadley, Massachusetts where she will be laid to rest with her parents and grandparents at Notre Dame Cemetery.
