Born to Joseph and Alma [Dundon] Reardon on August 5, 1934 in Boston, Mass., the family soon relocated to Keene, N.H.
In 1953, Judy married childhood sweetheart Robert Todd Newcombe, Sr., and had two children, Karen Lynn Newcombe and Robert Todd Newcombe, Jr., known as Todd.
The family moved to Deerfield Beach, Fla. in 1965 to take up life as motel owners on the beach. Both Judy and Bob were long involved in community service, including the Junior Women’s League and the Rotary Club.
In 1970, Judy joined George Patterson’s law firm in Deerfield Beach as a paralegal and began a lifelong career that she loved, not retiring until well into her 70s. She later worked for Lawrence Larche at Schroeder and Larche in Boca Raton, Fla.
Judy is predeceased by her husband Robert Todd Newcombe Sr. and their son Robert Todd Newcombe, Jr., parents Joseph and Alma Reardon, sisters Elaine Koskela and Carol Liebl, and her brother Charles Reardon.
She is survived by daughter Karen Lynn Newcombe of Deerfield Beach, Fla., granddaughter Allison Annette Newcombe of New York City, N.Y., sister Patricia Lilly of North Carolina, and sister-in-law Laura Pierce-Reardon [Charles].
Judy’s ashes will be interred in a private ceremony at Deerfield Beach Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to Wounded Warriors (Judy’s brother was a Vietnam Veteran) or to the ASPCA in recognition of her lifelong love of animals and birds.
