

The son of Vincent A. and Gertrude M. Huber, Francis was born on February 3, 1922 in Patton, Pennsylvania. On June 15, 1939, he married Edna A. McCoy, who passed away February 28, 1974. He married Jean L. Shank on July 1, 1977.
Francis was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a life member of Post 614 American Legion in Patton, PA and of the VFW Post in Ebensburg PA, as well as the Bavarian Aid Society of Altoona, PA.
Mr. Huber was a retired businessman, starting his career in his father’s hardware store in Patton and worked with him until 1951. He then worked for the Gage Co. and RSL Shuttlecock in Altoona. He owned and operated the Lake View Motel in Ebensburg from 1965 until 1971. He then owned and operated the Penn Alto Hotel in Altoona and retired to Florida in 1989.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and former parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church of Deerfield Beach, where he founded and chaired the Men’s Club for many years.
Mr. Huber was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rita, brother Anthony, and daughter Barbara Lee Caldwell. He is survived by his wife, Jean, son David A. Huber of Wantage, NJ; five grandchildren, Eric Caldwell, Wantage, NJ; Amy McGovern, Nicholson, PA; Alisha Gifford, Raleigh, NC; Alexis Huber, Raleigh, NC; and Adam Huber, New York, NY; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four step-sons, Andrew Shank, Baltimore, MD; Mark Shank, Kensington, MD; Bruce Shank, Hollidaysburg, PA; Michael Shank, Frederick, MD; and a stepdaughter, Cynthia Wallace, Herndon, VA.
Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30AM Monday at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach, Fl . A memorial service will also be held in Altoona, Pa at a later date, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
