My Deepest Sympathies to Bill and the Rest of George's Family, George was very special to me in the late 1970s. He remained in my heart over the years. We very recently reconnected thanks to Facebook. As he touched my life, so did he touch the lives of so many. I am sorry to have only heard about his passing yesterday. May he rest in peace. With much love, Dr. Steven J. McCarthy

Bill, I can't tell you how sorry I am for the loss of George. Of only really getting to know George in less than a year we really became great friends inside and outside of work. I will never forget the day he rescued Benji and brought him home to you. His passion for life was perfect in everything he did. He brought so many of us closer to each other and always had good things to say about all of us.I will miss him so,but I know he will always be watching over me. God Bless you and your family. I cannot believe that George is gone. God must have wanted him home. You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. Just remember that the tears we shed are only because his life, gentleness and spirit will be missed so--but he has made it. George is where we all want to be--flying with the angels and soaring on eagle's wings. God Bless You all. love, cousin Rosie Palker Havel
