Gloria was born as Gloria Bernice Stephenson, in New Brunswick, Canada on March 15, 1926, as a British citizen. Her family migrated to the United States, and in 1947 she became a naturalized citizen at the age of 20 years old.
Gloria grew up in the City of Boston, attending school, and working in Downtown Boston as a Fashion Model for large department stores. Throughout her life, Gloria worked as a seamstress, a healthcare aide for the elderly, and a stay at home mom for her children.
Gloria met her husband, Charlie, in Boston, and soon married in 1950. Gloria had 7 children throughout her life. She is survived by her children Ken & Nina Long, Jim Long, Gloria & Domenico Tumminello, and Madelyn & Daniel Sargeant, grandchildren Dalton Sargeant, Anna Maria Burgos, Logan Sargeant, and Adam Long, great grandchildren Justice Riley, Angel Simone Riley, Michael Francis Riley, and Adler Michael Gieniec. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Long, her sons Robert F Long, Thomas W Long, and baby girl Mary Long, and grand-daughter, Michelle Riley.
Mom was loved by all who met her, her beautiful smile, her brilliant laugh, and her ability to lighten the load and offer care and kindness to all those in need. Although we have lost our mom, we have gained an angel in Heaven.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Please join us to Celebrate the Life and mourn the passing of our mother, Gloria Stephenson Long.
